Welcome to week 3 of the Autumn Series, we hope that you and your students are enjoying the experience, the matches and most of all, the opportunity to represent the school.
Club PD Webinar
This time next week (Thursday 4PM AWST) Brett Sullivan will
be presenting a Youth Esports Club special for teachers and parents. The free
webinar will be able to be accessed via the link below and will go for
approximately 30 minutes. During that time, Brett will also be taking any
questions relating to Youth Esports Clubs and other Flaktest related activities.

management is one of the many important components to sport and Flaktest
understands that esports match management is a new world for many. Over the
last two weeks, a number of forfeited matches have taken place. Each week
Flaktest sends information to Teacher Reps which include the teams who have
forfeited, the reason behind the forfeit, and the student details. We hope this
data is sufficient when approaching students in your school club.
From the data, we have a number of interesting findings that will assist Teacher Representatives in understanding the ‘why’ behind match forfeits. We believe these findings will assist you as you approach your club this week as they move into their Week 3 matches. Here are some of the popular reasons for a team to forfeit a match in the Autumn Series:
- I won’t win the match, so why bother?
- Nothing will happen if I don’t show up.
- I don’t feel like anything is happening with our club.
- My friends aren’t online and are not replying to me.
- I was not prepared to commit to a weekly sport competition.
We hope that the data provided will provide some perspective behind some of the decisions made by students at school. We will focus on the data during the Webinar with Brett Sullivan next week.
